WrestleMania Prediction Machine: The Final Results

The Rock vs. John Cena

John Cena

Nick Paglino:

The rumor mill continues to turn as to whether or not The Rock will stick around past WrestleMania and potentially continue to work with John Cena heading into Summerslam this year. But with reports indicating that Lord Tensai might be next in line for a feud with Cena, I think the odds are more likely that The Rock will take some time away from the ring after 'Mania and return either before Summerslam, or sometime later in the year to start the build towards WrestleMania 29. If the latter is the case, then I see John Cena winning the big match Sunday night, as there is little to no point in having a guy like The Rock win the bout if he isn't sticking around past Sunday night.

Justin LaBar:

John Cena is the guy who is sticking around. I think from the start of this feud a year ago, all those involved knew Cena would go over when the match finally happen. The big question is how? We'll leave that to the fun of watching but I gotta believe John Cena beats The Rock in his hometown.

Josh Isenberg:

I will say it does not matter who is sticking around or not after. I hate that argument because they build all year for THIS event, not a PPV in May or June. Whether Rock stays or leaves, which he will leave, this match has been a back and forth argument inside my head for months. In one case, Rock could win and solidify himself as the best ever having beaten Hogan, Austin, and Cena. I love that angle and way of looking at greatness. On the other hand, John Cena will beat The Great One in his hometown, solidify himself as an Icon, and put a stamp with his name on history. I will like either winning, but I do think Cena will win. A passing of the torch in ways, but I just am so unsure why they would bring Rock back to fight in his hometown to lose. He has put so many guys over and Cena  is already over. The ending will be telling in how we will remember both men. My pick, nervously, is John Cena.
