Number 1: Survivor Series 2002
Like Blockbuster movies, one hit wonders, some first time matches cannot be matched. Survivor Series 2002 would feature a weak lower card on Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar, Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Noble, and Three Minute Warning vs. Dudley Boys. None of these matches would go over 15 minutes, while two of them were under ten. It took a new investion, an Elimination Chamber match featuring Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Kane, and Chris Jericho to carry this entire Pay Per View. The match would last 40 minutes. Triple H and RVD would start off the match. Booker T would eliminate RVD first, and then all chaos broke loose. Booker would be gone, thanks to Jericho, and then the athleticism took over. Jericho and Michaels fought and worked fantastically. Triple H would brawl with Kane, and the spots were fantastic. There was not a missed step at all that stood out when re-watching this match. Michaels and Triple H would be the final two. Triple H was handed the World Heavyweight Championship from Eric Bischoff, thus entirely separating Raw and Smackdown. Michaels would get his chance to be back on top after being taken out by The Game at SummerSlam. It was only fitting that these two would finish the first Elimination Chamber match. Michaels would get sweet revenge with his Sweet Chin Music. Michaels was on top, after such a long, injury filled half decade. Everything came to conclusion here, and Michaels was the king. A match filled with intensity, athleticism, and especially personal conflicts, Elimination Chamber Number 1 is still the best.
