POINT 2: The right people are being pushed…
Look at the card for the most recent TNA pay-per-view, Turning Point. I'll admit the show was average (at best), but that doesn't mean it wasn't another step in the right direction. The card itself was solid, but as I've already said the biggest issue was finding people to invest in and get behind! I wanted the Crimson/Morgan match to be exciting, but I just couldn't seem to care when it was actually taking place. The same can be said for most of the lower-to-mid card talents. If they don't lose faith because they aren't seeing immediate results, we might see these guys in the spotlight long enough to build excitement for their matches. I just need more time to get invested in their characters!
But back to the Turning Point card… The biggest names people complain about that were showcased were Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett. After that it goes to the tag team match with Bully Ray, Scott Steiner, Ken Anderson, and Abyss. And both of those matches were to further specific feuds, so you can't even complain that they were taking up unnecessary time on a card that could have been used for younger guys. So who else had PPV time? Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, and Eric Bischoff, all the guys people constantly complain about, were nowhere to be seen! Instead Crimson, Matt Morgan, Ink Inc., Mexican America, Christopher Daniels, RVD, Robbie E, Eric Young, AJ Styles, and Robert Roode were all given time! Granted, the PPV was pretty bad, but I still see it as the company moving in the right direction…
Flip-side: Much like the first point, it's really only a matter of time before we see the aforementioned Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair back in some sort of spotlight.
