Bloated, wasteful and moronic. No, not the Federal Government but the twenty plus minute segment of death that kicked off (fumbled?) Raw last Monday.
I loved Raw two weeks ago and hated the first segment of Raw this week so much, I shut the show off.
Never confuse John Cena with the Rock. When the Rock would be in a multi-man opening segment, the Great One would usually stay on the stage and verbally kill everyone in the ring, making the segment gold. If Rock says those things face to face, the fight would be on.
With Cena, JBL, Batista and Kane all in the ring and verbally sparring, they can’t say anything too strong or they would have to fight. Since the segment was booked with no physicality, you’ve got 5 men standing around with their thumbs up their asses killing the show.
Believe me, I was disappointed. CM Punk was made to look like a jobber who scored a lucky win. JBL speaks slower than Muhammad Ali at the Olympic Torch lighting. Cena is a tough guy who always acts afraid and Batista is a terrible babyface. Kane is the only one who was good both last week and this.
In reading the results, they at least are still doing cool things with Kane, the falling light during CM Punk’s interview and Cryme Time.
I’ll give the show a shot again this week but if it sucks, I’m outta here and so will the ratings gain.
I’ve been involved in the wrestling business for seventeen years, been on TV and the Radio and I invented the internet but I finally will appear in a movie. I just finished voicing some matches for “The Wrestler” starring Mickey Rourke,Marisa Tomei and directed by Darren Aronofsky.
I had a kick-ass time, Darren was great to work with and I met and worked with Larry Zbyszko. We had a blast calling matches and I hope to work with Larry again. Now, all of my stuff may wind up on the cutting room floor but I had a great day.
