The re-emergence of Hulk Hogan onto the wrestling scene with TNA is much easier to analyze and understand if you know one thing: HULK HOGAN IS TOTALLY FULL OF S**T. Everything Hogan says is self-serving at best, and more often a lie. Nothing about Terry Bollea should ever be taken at face value.
Case in point: I don’t believe for ONE SECOND that Hogan contemplated suicide, let alone put a gun in his mouth. It’s a good story that sells books, especially if you stir a fellow quasi-celebrity like Laila Ali into the mix. But Hogan’s whole life has been about getting over and staying over, and suicide contradicts that.
By way of examining the evidence further, Hogan says he signed up to do a reality show because he thought it would bring his troubled family closer. What kind of IDIOT would actually think that? But Hogan is no idiot. Remember, getting over and staying over. A reality show maintains visibility, pays and leads to future paydays.
A family is a small price to pay. Hogan took a calculated risk, erring on the side of money and ego. I guarantee he never thought his wife would actually dump HULK HOGAN, AMERICAN LEGEND.
When we worked together in WCW, Hogan and I rarely spoke. But I know Hogan COULDN’T BELIEVE I didn’t buy into his BS. That thought was mentioned by more than one mutual acquaintance. Eric Bischoff once said to me – in plaintive, incredulous tones – “Don’t you understand what he’s done for this company? FOR THIS INDUSTRY?” Sure I do. But at what cost?
So, where’s this TNA thing going?
