Most Underrated Superstar of 2010: MVP
For this category, I had to think of someone who was the most consistently underrated in the entire year of 2009. Yes, I agree that Christian was underrated this year, but then again he has been the ECW Champion for quite sometime now, and whether you regard that title to be weak or not does not in anyway mean that he hasn’t been relied on by WWE. They put him on ECW because they needed someone to draw on a show that features mostly rookies, and if you combine that with the notion that Christian will get his due at some point, I had to rule him out as my first choice. Shelton Benjamin can’t really be considered as he’s been underrated and underused throughout most of his WWE career. But in the case of MVP, he’s lack of push in 2009 has to be the most disappointing. 2009 looked like it was going to be MVP’s year, and now that we’re at year’s end it seems like he may never get a year at all. WWE has had some many opportunities to push MVP this year, and have failed to do so every time. HIs year was a long downhill spiral, to the point where the last couple of months have seen him slip into a near jobber-like role on Raw. Here’s to hoping something gives for this talented star in 2010.
