First off, the crowd at the Philips arena was hot! How it comes off on television can be tricky, but it was fun to be apart of. The start to finish of RAW was overall better than Mania. WrestleMania 27 was still the spectacle and had an awesome entrance way stage, but RAW did better in its 2 hours than Mania’s 4. I said 2 hours, not 2 hours and 10 minutes. The final 10 minutes with the hyped John Cena calling out The Rock. They are going to fight in a year at WrestleMania 28!
I know that its in Miami which is where The Rock is from and went to school but come on….WrestleMania 28?!
Why start the feud this year? So The Rock can be added to this years Mania and do a few promos and skits. The skits during Mania were entertaining but not enough to where they will keep me laughing through the next 12 months as I calmly wait ANOTHER pay off to a story WWE was suppose to give me closure to at WrestleMania 27.
What if John Cena gets hurt? What if The Rock gets hurt? What if he has to film the Tooth Fairy 2? Furthermore, how do I care what Cena does between now and then? If he feuds with CM Punk, The Miz, Orton, Sheamus or anyone else on the week to week roster, how do you sell me that it matters and is a big deal. Its not a big deal. Rock vs Cena is a big deal but oh wait until next year.
That’s like asking Santa for a toy and getting a note in a box on Christmas morning saying you will get this toy next Christmas. Okay, some of you are too old for that example….how about its like paying for a lap dance and getting told you will get it next week?!? Now do we all feel the pain I am in about telling me on April 4, 2011 that I will see The Rock vs John Cena on April 1, 2012! Is there potential for it work and add suspense for the next year via creative ways in the story, of course there is potential! But just like Santa, I don’t expect to see it. At least nothing like it until January of 2012. I hope I get proved wrong.
But what can I do? I vent about it and will talk on CSR about it and then we move on and wait. I am already planning my trip to Miami and ready to dump a lot of money into their economy. Thank god I never ran into that Santa or stripper.
Thanks to all of the fans we got to meet either by planned events such as CSR filming or by the random sightings of us out and about. A special cheers to our friends across the pond who were in Atlanta and expressed their CSR support. England, Wales, Ireland….all terrific. I felt like at times we were more over than Primo is when he walks out of the WWE curtain.
Don’t forget this weeks CSR will have all of the WrestleMania & RAW fallout plus exclusive video from the Kevin Nash party and much more!
