#2.) Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa – NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV
In the conclusion of the epic trilogy between Gargano and Ciampa, the stakes were the highest it had been. Originally scheduled to have Aleister Black, making it a Triple Threat match, Black had been attacked (written off due to a legitimate injury), causing him to be pulled from the match.
It was then announced that Ciampa would defend his newly-won NXT Championship against Gargano in a Last Man Standing match. The two would give everything they had in an all-out war. There were many close moments and when it looked like Gargano was on the verge of winning, he was defeated, not by Ciampa, but by himself.
He had Ciampa handcuffed near the announcers desk on the ramp and it seemed like he was on course for a certain victory. Instead, he decided to hit Ciampa with a vicious knee strike. He wasn’t able to get up for the ten-count but Ciampa, by sheer luck managed to find his footing, retaining the championship and concluding their feud.
