Hit – AEW International Title Eliminator Final

This was an excellent match to kickoff AEW Dynamite. ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey impressed in his outing against The Beast Mortos last week. He did a tremendous job in the fatal four-way eliminator. Mark Davis used his strength advantage to brutalize his competitors. Cassidy provided the entertainment factor. Ricochet shined with his tremendous athleticism. The outcome was a bit surprising but, at least, we are getting Omega and Ricochet in the same ring at AEW Dynasty.

Miss – Spikey tears through Moxley’s flesh on AEW Dynamite

I’m starting to wonder Jon Moxley is just reliving his CZW days in AEW at this moment. The spike bat spot was a bit too much for this writer’s taste. I wonder if that was the planned spot all along, or they had no idea the nail bat was going to get stuck in Moxley’s back. This led to the overbooked finish with multiple run-ins and a decisive win for Mox over Cope. The reign of terror continues for The Death Riders.

Hit – Mercedes Moné vs. Billie Starkz

This was another solid TBS Championship defense for Mercedes Moné courtesy of the Billie Starkz. The former ROH Women’s Television Champion brought the fight to The CEO. Starkz took a nasty bump on the apron. Moné’s post-match promo was another tease for a showdown against Athena.

Miss – Will Ospreay vs. AR Fox on AEW Dynamite

Not taking anything away from this match, but AEW really doesn’t need to book Ospreay for in-ring action every single week. Ospreay can have a clinic with a wet mop but he shouldn’t partake in filler matches, so to speak. It seems that Ospreay volunteered to compete due to the blizzard affecting Omaha on Wednesday, so points for that.

Hit – Kris Statlander vs. Megan Bayne

Great in-ring action complemented by Toni Storm’s brilliant commentary. Megan has the potential to become a legitimate player in AEW. Her match against Statlander showed she can go in the ring. As for Statlander, she’s among AEW’s most consistent performers. This writer is looking forward to Toni Storm versus Megan Bayne at AEW Dynasty.
