Welcome or welcome back to our weekly WWE NXT hits and misses series where we recap all the good and bad from the show.
Hit – Chelsea Green vs. Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s United States Championship
Solid title defense for Chelsea Green against a rising star in Sol Ruca. It seems Sol botched the springboard clothesline in her first attempt. She did a great job selling the limb work from Chelsea, which is a lost art these days. ZARIA fended off the heels but that didn’t stop Chelsea from retaining her championship.
Miss – Hank and Tank vs. Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura on WWE NXT
The WWE NXT Universe seems to love Hank and Tank but this writer can’t get behind them. Briggs and Inamura, on the other hand, have struck as a duo. Briggs is extremely underrated in my humble opinion. Inamura’s charisma is continuing to win him fans among the NXT crowd. Let’s see if they get another shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Hit – Stephanie Vaquer and Jaida Parker segment
Stephanie did a solid job cutting her first promo as NXT’s Double Champion. English isn’t her first language but this promo shows she is putting in the effort to learn. Speaking of promo, Jaida Parker is one of the best talkers in the WWE women’s division. This charisma will carry her a long way. This writer is looking forward to their match next week.
Miss – Karmen Petrovic vs. Jacy Jayne on WWE NXT
The Petrovic-Adonis love-hate storyline is just awful. The pair seems to be getting no reaction at all. At least, Jacy Jayne picked up the win because Fatal Influence have been doing nothing but job to their opponents for weeks now.
Hit – Six-person tag team match
I might be in the minority but I enjoyed this match. Crusifino continues to impress me with his performance. Stacks telling Tony to stay in the back only for Tony to get jumped by DarkState has this writer thinking The Underboss might be involved with the group. Speaking of DarkState, this writer ha mixed views about the rogue faction.

Miss – Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe
The post-match brawl between Trick and Oba was far entertaining than the WWE NXT Underground Match between Trick and Thorpe. The music ruined it for me though. Evans’ involvement in the brawl might lead to a triple threat main event featuring the Young OG, Trick Willy and Oba Femi at Stand & Deliver.
Hit – Ricky Saints vs. Ridge Holland on WWE NXT
Impressive showing from both men. Ridge is believable as the bully. As for Saints, he’ll most likely get his hands on an NXT title by the end of this year. The post-match segment between Saints and The Culling was interesting, to say the least.
