WWE NXT Roadblock Review

WWE NXT Roadblock went down at The Theater in Madison Square Garden last night. The television special featured appearances from WWE LFG coaches including Mickie James. Here’s what else transpired at the Roadblock special.

The Hardy Boyz want to add NXT gold to their collection: Roadblock 2025 exclusive

The Hardy Boyz defended their TNA Tag Team Titles against Fraxiom

What a way to kick off NXT Roadblock! Seeing Jeff and Matt take on Fraxiom was super cool. This writer is convinced Nathan Frazer is the fastest wrestler in WWE. Frazer and Bron Breakker really need to have a sprinting contest. Axiom has the stiffest drop kick on the roster. The Hardyz looked like they were having fun while pulling out their signature moves. Let’s see if the tag team legends make more appearance on NXT.

Jordynne Grace vs. Roxanne Perez at NXT Roadblock

These two had a great match at NXT Battleground 2024. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about their outing last night. Jordynne busted out some cool power moves but Perez had some excellent counters of her own. Perez has got to be done with NXT after Roadblock because she doesn’t have much else to prove on Tuesdays. Next stop, versus Bayley at WrestleMania 41.

Oba Femi took on TNA’s Moose

This could’ve been a MOTN contender if not for TV time restrictions. Oba Femi and Moose pulled out all the stops. This was hard-hitting with some solid mix of aerial offense. This writer thought they were literally going to murder each other with all those brutal bumps. Oba got The Undertaker rub before the match. As for Moose, he went out with one of the best matches of his career.

New York City Street Fight at NXT Roadblock

Evans is such a great high-flyer to watch. He’s extremely versatile on the ropes. As for Page, he can make anyone look good with his ring psychology alone. All Ego really brings that conniving heel energy that makes him a standout character on NXT. The gear choice was spot on for the Street Fight. This writer was fearing for both men when Evan hit his finisher on the neck-stuck-in chair Page. Kudos to both men but why did they have to feed Evans to the mystery group?!

Stephanie Vaquer made history

This writer is sold on Giulia’s injury reports after the outcome. This match could’ve easily headlined Stand & Deliver but something did force WWE’s hands. That said, Giulia and Stephanie put on a quality show for the fans in attendance and watching Roadblock special at home. Giulia catching Stephanie for a submission mid-air was neat. The double SVBs sealed the win for Stephanie. Congratulations to the NXT’s Double Champion!
