WWE RAW Review: Hits And Misses For March 3

Welcome or welcome back to our weekly WWE RAW hits and misses series where we recap all the good and bad from the show.

Hit – Opening segment on WWE RAW

Having CM Punk kickoff Monday Night RAW was the best possible booking decision. Punk has every right to be pissed. He got screwed by Seth Rollins at Elimination Chamber. The Rock is apparently once again hijacking Punk’s plans to main event WrestleMania. It seems Punk versus Rollins will be settled inside a steel cage next Monday. Then who gets to face Punk at WrestleMania? Let’s see.

Gunther wasn’t kidding when he told Jey Uso he was gonna make his life hell until #WrestleMania… ?

Miss – Jey Uso and Gunther brawl

Jey Uso gets the upper hand one week. Gunther takes advantage the next. The problems with these brawls is that you can only do them twice until they get repetitive. Hunter should’ve booked Jey to cut a live promo on the events of Elimination Chamber. That would’ve been interesting to hear. As for Gunther’s match against, it was a solid three out of five.

Lyra Valkyria is looking to WrestleMania after beating Ivy Nile: Raw exclusive, March 3, 2025

Hit – Women’s Intercontinental Title match on WWE RAW

The Intercontinental Championship has mostly been about match quality. Lyra versus Ivy had quality. Ivy looked good in defeat. Lyra is starting to solidify herself as the first-ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Let’s see if Triple H doesn’t make her lose her momentum by booking her in a crappy program on RAW.

Miss – Bron Breakker takes out The Judgment Day

Bron Breakker versus Finn Balor seems to be the direction for WrestleMania. This writer was hoping to see AJ Styles get a shot at Breakker. They really had a solid angle on WWE RAW a couple of weeks ago. Breakker manhandling Judgment Day fits his badass character but that’s about it.

IYO SKY is headed to #WrestleMania as the Women’s World Champ!! ? #RawOnNetflix

Hit – New Women’s World Champion

Last night’s RAW really ended on a shocker. Just when we thought we were about to get Rhea Ripley versus Bianca Belair, Triple H delivers another surprise. IYO SKY pinned Rhea Ripley to claim the world title. That’s another win for IYO against Rhea in singles competition. The outcome has this writer guessing the world title program for WrestleMania. Triple threat, maybe?

Honorable Mention

  • I thought the Chad Gable vignette was dumb. Gable should be twisting limbs on a weekly basis. Instead, he’s paying money for some mystery box that will release the dark arts of lucha libre. Wait! What if that’s Rey Fenix instead of the highly rumored Malakai Black?
  • The War Raiders and Creed Brothers had a great match on WWE RAW. This writer is looking forward to Julius and Brutus win the tag team titles. With Creeds seemingly out of the title picture, who gets to face Erik and Ivar for their championships?
