WWE Elimination Chamber is officially in the books and all this writer can say is wow!
Between fans booing US National Anthem and Drake watching the show in person, a lot happened at the main roster’s final PLE stop ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Here’s what went down at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025.
The Storm has returned
The writer loved every minute of this angle. WWE wanted fans to believe Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attacked Jade Cargill. Even Liv sold Cargill’s return with her incredible expressions. The powerhouse taunted Liv before going straight for Naomi, much to Bianca Belair’s dismay. Jade spent the next few minutes completely destroying the former tag team champion.
As for the bout itself, the Women’s Elimination Chamber match might go down as one of the best Women’s Chamber matches in WWE history. The in-ring action complemented the storylines. Roxanne Perez proved once again why she’s “The Prodigy”. Liv might be the MVP, but it was Bianca who was able to punch her ticket to a world title match at WrestleMania 41.
That said, this writer wonders why Bianca didn’t sell Naomi’s injury after the match. She should have gone straight to the back and faced off with Rhea Ripley instead of doing her post-match celebration. The whole angle felt a bit underwhelming.
Women’s tag team match at WWE Elimination Chamber
This match had filler written all over it. Trish challenging Tiffany for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship would have been far more interesting. However, there were some highlights. The bulldog off the top rope looked brutal. Tiffany picked up the win for the team after the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. This writer was waiting for Charlotte Flair to show up and keep building up their WrestleMania match. Instead, this match was all about Stratton and Stratus.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went to war in Toronto
Another early Match of the Year contender courtesy of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. These two are destined to do this forever. The only issue this writer had with this match was it lacked blood. A little bit of color would have added a lot to the match. Even the barbed wire-wrapped chair failed to cut open Owens.
The closing minutes and the post-match angle took this to another level. Randy Orton returned just in time to save Sami from Owens’ brutal beatdown. The teased return of the Punt was fun, but they’re saving that for a bigger stage. Owens taking out security guys with multiple RKOs out of nowhere was entertaining as well.
John Cena won WWE Elimination Chamber and turned heel
Let’s recap the match first. This writer thought it was spectacular. It was one of the best Men’s Elimination Chamber match in recent memory. While the Women’s Chamber was action-heavy, the men’s was storyline-driven. It seems they’re going with McIntyre versus Priest, as Priest eliminated the former champion from the match. Among other highlights, CM Punk had an excellent counter to Logan Paul’s Buckshot Lariat.
Speaking of Punk, this writer wants to see “The Straight Edge Superstar” take on Rollins more than ever. Cena saying sorry while Rollins telling Punk to “die” was a great way to cap off the Men’s WWE Elimination Chamber match. Cody Rhodes then showed up to congratulate his WrestleMania 41 opponent. However, the night was far from over.
The Rock showed up, but Travis Scott accompanying him was odd. Scott felt so out of place. Despite Scott’s involvement aside, Cena’s turn will go down as one of the greatest heel turns in pro wrestling history. “The Franchise Player” chose his farewell run to turn heel, something he’s never gotten to do throughout his run as a top star in WWE. The possibilities are endless.
Needless to say, the road to WrestleMania just got bigger.
