AEW Dynamite Review: Hits And Misses For February 12

Welcome or welcome back to our weekly AEW Dynamite hits and misses series where we recap all the good and bad from the show.

Hit – Down goes the ‘Best Wrestler Alive’

Hangman Page’s ass whoopin’ on Max Caster was a brilliant way to kick off Dynamite. Page is so good at what he does. Caster had the beating coming. He’ll probably take some more beatings before eventually siding with The Hurt Syndicate, I believe.

Rated R Superstar COPE & Jay White send a message to Death Riders! | 2/12/25, AEW Dynamite

Miss – Cope and White steal the briefcase

This writer wasn’t a fan of the Death Riders segment. Mox seemed to contradict himself when he said the AEW title didn’t mean anything to me before sending Shafir to grab the briefcase. Seeing White reduced to a third act in this feud between Mox and Cope disappoints this writer.

Hit – Trios tag team match on AEW Dynamite

Some great trios tag team action on the go-home Dynamite for Grand Slam: Australia. The superkick has become an overused move. That said, Adam Cole rocking his opponent out of nowhere with the kick looked great. The finish was quite underwhelming but the preceding action was really well done.

Miss – Chris Jericho and Bandido’s showdown

Hobbs’ spinesbuster to Big Bill was the highlight of this segment even though it was supposed to put Bandido over. Jericho wants fans to name one person who was dragged down working with him. It seems Bandido is next in line to get the Learning Tree curse.

Deep in the heart! MJF battles Dustin Rhodes on his home turf: Texas! | 2/12/25, AEW Dynamite

Hit – MJF & Hangman Page finally brawl on AEW Dynamite

They finally let Max and Hangman go at it on Dynamite this week. This writer can’t wait to see Hangman revert to being the good guy. MJF is arguably the right choice to pull the devil out of Page. The brawl segment dragged quite a bit after a very good match between MJF and Dustin Rhodes. They’ll probably hold off on a match between Page and Max because it’s too big to take place on weekly television.

Honorable Mention

The Hurt Syndicate completely destroyed The Gunns on Dynamite. Lashley and Benjamin looked like a millionbucks in their beatdown of the former Ass Boys. Hopefully, they’ll have a lengthy run with the tag team titles.
