WWE NXT Review: Hits And Misses For February 11

Welcome or welcome back to our weekly WWE NXT hits and misses series where we recap all the good and bad from the show.

Miss – Cora Jade vs. Bayley

Jade’s clearly far from being the best version of herself in the ring. Yes, there’s always room for improvement but Jade’s greatest strength is her character. Even Bayley couldn’t bring the best out of her former fan. This writer isn’t sure why Shawn Michaels tweaked the lineup to include Jade because Bayley, Giulia and Roxanne looked great on paper for WWE NXT Vengeance Day.

Hit – Oba Femi takes gets attacked on WWE NXT

A-Town Down Under feigned implosion just to destroy Oba Femi. That means the champion is retaining his title this Saturday. But that also means we may very well be witnessing a split at NXT Vengeance Day. The breakup has been months in the making. This writer is looking forward to how Waller and Theory walk away from each other on Saturday.

Miss – Lexis King vs. JDC for WWE NXT Heritage Cup

We got new WWE NXT Heritage Cup rules for this match, which was weird because the previous rules were a major part of the Heritage Cup gimmick. This looked more like a traditional title match with one fall to the finish. As for the action, it was nothing special with JDC’s dive onto King being the highlight of the match.

Hit – Briggs and Inamura get closer to tag team gold

Briggs and Inamura’s pairing has the potential to win the tag team titles. Inamura’s got that explosive energy. Briggs is one of the more underrated guys on the roster who, somehow, can’t get out of tag action. The upcoming tag team title match against Fraxiom at WWE NXT Vengeance Day is going to be fun.

Miss – Nikkita Lyons vs. ZARIA

The worked punch exchange at the beginning looked good but nothing else particularly stood out. Lyons seemed to be caught in a loop where the moment she gets some momentum the injury bug strikes. Hopefully, that won’t be the case this time around. It seems the ZARIA-Ruca pairing is here to stay for the time being.

Hit – Ricky Starks is on WWE NXT

WWE was quick to bring Ricky Starks after his name was dropped from the AEW roster. That was a great way to showcase Starks’ debut. Starks is someone who can carry the brand as long as stays on Tuesdays. The promo was short yet effective. The revolution will be televised on NXT.

Honorable Mention

Izzi Dame revealing herself as the new member of Shawn Spears’ cult was quite the surprise. WWE NXT had teased Channing Stacks but he stayed loyal to The Don. Looks like we are about to get another faction warfare storyline post-Vengeance Day.
