It’s almost time for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The 2025 iteration of SNME comes to you live from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. It will broadcast on NBC and Peacock (in the United States) at 8pm ET. WWE is also reportedly planning to stream the event on their YouTube channel for international viewers.
That said, let’s begin our WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2025 preview and predictions.
Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu
Preview: WWE first teased Braun Strowman versus Jacob Fatu on the December 27, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Strowman came to Sami Zayn’s aid from The Bloodline but was quickly subdued by the group. The Monster of all Monsters almost got physical with the Samoan Werewolf on the January 17 episode of SmackDown before WWE confirmed a match between the pair for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Prediction: Braun Strowman versus Bronson Reed was great but Braun Strowman versus Jacob Fatu has the potential to surpass that. Strowman believes his match with Jacob Fatu will feed generations. As for the outcome, Fatu gets the win because his big break is nothing but inevitable at this moment. Either this is going to be a brutal fight between these two behemoths or Fatu completely squashes Strowman.
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus for the Intercontinental Title at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Preview: Bron Breakker and Sheamus first squared off in singles action back in June 2024. The pair reignited their rivalry after Breakker won the Intercontinental Championship. The Celtic Warrior failed to win the title at Survivor Series 2024 in a match that also featured Ludwig Kaiser. He returned from injury to pick up his feud with Breakker.
Prediction: Sheamus’ quest for the workman’s title has give the WWE Universe MOTY contenders. The Celtic Warrior has called the IC title his curse. Still, he’s determined to win the one thing that’s eluded him for his illustrious career. Triple H needs to give Fella the win this Saturday and break the damn curse.
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax – WWE Women’s World Title Match
Preview: Nia Jax set her eyes on Rhea Ripley just three days after she dropped the WWE Women’s Championship to Tiffany Stratton. The Irresistible Force declared for the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. However, a brawl with Rhea this past Monday on RAW caused Mami to deliver a blockbuster title match announcement for Saturday.
Prediction: After failing to beat Rhea for the world title at Elimination Chamber 2024, Nia Jax is back and determined than ever. Both women have had quite a few ups and downs during the time they stayed away from each other. Rhea lost the title and won it back. Nia became the WWE Women’s Champion and dropped it to Tiffany Stratton. As for the outcome, Ripley retains at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens sign contract at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Preview: Kevin Owens spiked Cody Rhodes with a package piledriver after failing to win the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024. KO took the Winged Eagle Championship for himself. He’s since been calling himself the champion. However, there can be only one champion come Royal Rumble 2025. The contract signing at SNME will be mediated by Shawn Michaels.
Prediction: Somebody is going through the table because you can’t have a WWE contract signing without that. If WWE wants to take things a step further and give KO more heat, then just let him take out Shawn Michaels with a piledriver. Owens has already taken out Randy Orton with a piledriver. As for Orton, I don’t expect him to pop up until the ladder match at the Rumble.
Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship
Preview: Jey Uso popped up to answer Gunther’s challenge on the second episode of WWE RAW on Netflix. Gunther said Jey wasn’t on his level. Jey said he’d prove Gunther wrong by winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The duo met the following week and their confrontation ended with Jey standing tall inside the ring.
Prediction: Gunther and Jey Uso have had two singles match against each other so far. They first met when Gunther was the Intercontinental Champion. The second outing was for a spot in the King of the Ring finals. The Ring General bested the Yeet Master on both occasions. This Saturday won’t be any different. This writer expects Gunther’s old rival to pop up during the event.
Jesse Ventura also confirmed he will be at the event on Saturday.
WrestleZone will have full coverage of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event as it airs.
