It’s time to recap WWE NXT Deadline!
WWE’s penultimate PLE of 2024 went down in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The five-match card featured the signature Iron Survivor Challenge for both men and women.
Here’s what went down at the third annual WWE NXT Deadline PLE.
Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge
Participants: Ethan Page vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Nathan Frazer vs. Oba Femi vs. Wes Lee
Analysis: This was the best Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge to date when it comes to in-ring action. There was no doubt about the (match’s) greatness due to the litany of talent that was involved. Evans and Lee had some brilliant exchanges in the opening minutes.
Frazer is a workhorse in every sense of the word. Page’s character work was great from bell to bell. Oba Femi’s appearance after weeks of absence was a cool surprise and put a definitive end to rumors about his main roster call-up, at least for now.

Participants: Jaida Parker vs. Lola Vice
Analysis: Their NXT 2300 match was far better in my opinion. The Underground setting heavily favored Lola due to her MMA background. Still, Miss Parker dished some punishment of her own. The limb work by Jaida on Lola was solid. The ringside crew taking bumps is one thing NXT needs to get rid off. Let both ladies go all out inside a steel cage if we’re getting a rubber match.

Participants: Fraxiom (c) (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) vs. No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne & Tavion Heights)
Analysis: Fraxiom gave Myles and Tavion the best match of their career so far. This just speaks to how incredible Axiom and Frazer are in the ring. Also, Myles and Tavion have improved so much since coming on NXT from Level Up. Tavion has THE best-looking suplexes. He and Chad Gable needs to have a match somewhere down the line. OTM’s appearance wasn’t needed. Frazer went 100 miles per hour despite getting himself busted open in the Iron Survivor Challenge. The superkick by Axiom towards the end of the match was beautiful. All the near falls added to the suspense, setting up an awesome conclusion.

Participants: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ridge Holland
Analysis: This writer thought Ridge Holland did a solid job on the go-home episode of NXT for Deadline. The same, however, cannot be said about Holland’s performance in the match-up. This was rather underwhelming. Trick couldn’t carry Holland. The champion himself needed the likes of Ilja Dragunov to make himself look better. Trick did. Holland didn’t. Hopefully, the feud is over.

Participants: Giulia vs. Sol Ruca vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Wren Sinclair vs. ZARIA
Analysis: This match proved once again why the women of NXT are its greatest strength. Giulia brought her grit to the match. Sol was brilliant as ever with her aerial assault. Stephanie can be lethal when she wants to. Wren was every bit as technical and crafty with her offense despite looking nervous before the match. ZARIA demonstrated her incredible strength. The running senton while carrying a fully grown person on her back was impressive. What a way to cap off an already brilliant 2024 for NXT PLEs.
