WWE RAW Review: Hits And Misses For December 2

We’re back with another edition of our weekly WWE RAW hits and misses series.

Last night’s RAW went down in Everett, Washington. The show featured New Day’s 10th anniversary celebration, first-round match-ups for the Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament, and much more.

So sit back and enjoy as we present the biggest hits and misses from Monday Night RAW.

WWE RAW OPENING SEGMENT: CM Punk and Seth “Freakin” Rollins engage in a chaotic confrontation ?

Hit – CM Punk and Seth Rollins throw hands on WWE RAW

These guys are so good at it that it’s hard to tell what’s kayfabe and what isn’t. Punk and live mic are a match made in heaven. Rollins can not deny his obsession with Punk. Jey and Sami’s involvement was a nice touch. The promo between Sami and Rollins was underrated and set up WWE RAW’s main event for the night.

Raquel Rodriguez slams Rhea Ripley’s eye into the announce table: Raw highlights, Dec. 2, 2024

Miss – Rhea Ripley won’t sell her injury

The Liv Morgan-Rhea Ripley storyline is starting to get ridiculous. Mami stood up from taking multiple baseball bat shots to the abdomen at Survivor Series: WarGames. Last night, she was shoved into the broadcast table eye-first. This writer might even call her Super Rhea at this point.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turn their backs on Big E: Raw highlights, Dec. 2, 2024

Hit – NEW DAY SUCKS, NEW DAY SUCKS

The double turn that nobody saw coming. This was damn brilliant. Big E got the biggest pop of the night with his appearance. Everybody loves Langston except for his brothers, who told him to stick to his desk job. The neck diss was brutal. The Edge namedrop pretty much confirmed why WWE filed to trademark the name.

Lastly, the shot of Big E looking at his former brothers was just heartbreaking. Props to the performers and the writers for giving the WWE Universe a brilliant build-up to one the most unexpected turns on WWE RAW.

R-Truth scores a surprise victory over Pete Dunne: Raw highlights, Dec. 2, 2024

Miss – R-Truth vs Pete Dunne on WWE RAW

Why was this match on the card in the first place? Dunne had a solid run in NXT where he helped elevate Trick Williams. Nobody cares about R-Truth taking on Pete Dunne. Let’s find something of value for both men.

FULL MATCH: Sami Zayn is attacked by Drew McIntyre after loss to Seth Rollins: Raw, Dec. 2, 2024

Hit – Drew McIntyre is back on WWE RAW

He’s back and he’s pi*sed than ever. After missing nearly two months of television, McIntyre returned to RAW last night. The Scottish Warrior (seemingly) attacked Jet Uso before jumping Sami Zayn in the main event. Given his history with Punk, McIntyre would probably attack anyone and everyone who remotely cares for the Voice of the Voiceless. That’s just what this writer assumes.

Honorable Mention

  • The first-round tournament match-up was solid, but not enough to make it to the hits this week. Baszler seems to be getting her killer instinct back. Katana Chance had some good spots. Dakota Kai emerging as the winner was interesting, to say the least.
  • Dominik turned Gunther babyface for the brief moment they duked it out in the ring. He’ll only get closer to the title after what this writer thought was a solid singles performance against the Ring General. Balor taking out the champion showed how mean he could get for something he really wants.
