It’s time to revisit the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.
WWE presented the November 22 episode of SmackDown from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The show featured another first-round match-up in the Women’s United States Championship Tournament and more.
Here are the biggest hits and misses from the latest Friday Night SmackDown.
Hit – Chelsea Green advances in the Women’s US Title Tournament

A great opening match-up featuring Bianca Belair, Blair Davenport, and Chelsea Green. All three women worked brilliantly together to keep things running from bell to bell. The Jade Cargill backstage assault angle added some great suspense to the storyline featuring the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Chelsea Green picking up the W was the right decision. This writer is rooting for Chelsea to win the tournament.
Miss – LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar on WWE SmackDown
We’ve seen this match a thousand times before. WWE needs to stop booking Knight in filler matches and give him a proper feud to solidify his US title reign. We’ve seen Nakamura do the same monologue against Seth Rollins. This writer digs the presentation though. He’ll most likely lose this feud as well before we get to another opponent for LA Knight.
Hit – Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens lay into each other
Emotions were running high in this segment. Rhodes and Owens went back and forth in what was a great promo between these two former friends. Owens cutting a promo from the crowd is always a great sight. The build to this feud has been amazing so far. Let’s see how these two superstars carry it all the way to Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Miss – Women’s tag team match on WWE SmackDown
Nia Jax’s interference led to a disqualification. WWE should’ve come up with a more creative finish instead of the no-contest angle we get week in and week out. Rhea Ripley’s appearance was a nice surprise. That said, with Jade Cargill seemingly out of the picture who will be the fifth woman in the WarGames match-up?
Hit – Ladies & Gentleman! It’s Clobberin’ Time!
The best ending to WWE SmackDown in 2024 and the blue brand has had a couple of them this year. Paul Heyman got a massive pop. Jey couldn’t help but smile when he heard those words. The crowd went silent for the Wiseman to cut his promo. Next thing we know, CM Punk shows up to join the OG Bloodline as the fifth member. This is how you cap off a show while creating all kinds of speculations for next week. What happens to Rollins now that Punk has joined Roman and his crew? Will Punk and Reigns be able to co-exist? Next week is going to be interesting.
Honorable Mention
- Tommaso Ciampa and Montez Ford had a short but impactful match. WWE needs to let Ford have singles matches more often. He has superstar written all over him. Ciampa shoving Gargano for the second time in two weeks brought MCMG into the mix. Will Ciampa’s actions force Gargano to team up with Shelley and Sabin? It remains to be seen.
