Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly WWE RAW hits and misses series.
WWE presented the final edition of RAW for Crown Jewel from the Giant Center in Hershey. Jey Uso, The Judgment Day, Damian Priest, American Made, and more worked the show.
Here’s what went down on the October 28 episode of Monday Night RAW.
Hit – The Usos take care of The Bloodline
This was a solid segment to kick off WWE RAW. Jey Uso is still one of the most popular stars on the red brand. Jimmy was bound to appear after what happened on SmackDown last week. The brothers managed to fend off The Bloodline. WWE should’ve waited until SmackDown to announce the six-man tag team match for Crown Jewel.
Miss – Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser on WWE RAW
It’s safe to say this wasn’t the best match between the pair. These two have had some incredible, hard-hitting matches in the past. This was slow compared to their previous outings. I’m curious to see how Triple H books Kaiser following his loss to Sheamus on RAW.
Hit – Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed destroy each other
These two won’t stop destroying each other even though they have a match scheduled in Saudi Arabia this Saturday. It seems Bronson Reed has completely taken over the monster gimmick from Braun Strowman, who’s out with another injury (at the time of this writing). Reed standing up after taking a curb stomp on a car was a huge pop-up moment for me from the brawl last night on WWE RAW.
Miss – Ivy Nile vs. Zelina Vega on WWE RAW
Neither woman walked out looking strong from this match-up. They should’ve booked Ivy Nile to win clean in order to make American Made look strong. The interference angle didn’t do anything for the powerhouse. I liked her finisher though.
Hit – Tag team title tournament final
This, without a doubt, was the match of the night. All participants did some solid stuff. The New Day had their continuation with all the stuff between Kofi and Woods. Gable causing a distraction for the LWO as payback was good stuff. I really hope American Made wins the feud over the LWO. The War Raiders winning took me by surprise.
Honorable Mentions
- Any segment featuring R-Truth is bound to be hilarious. Last night was no exception. Truth slapped the taste out of The Miz before wishing him good luck against The Wyatts. The interaction with Butch, I mean Pete Dunne, was funny. I smell a feud coming.
- Dominik Mysterio versus Damian Priest was decent. We’ve seen them go at it many times before. Dom winning was a huge surprise. It’s clear they want him in the title picture. Balor getting all frustrated was a nice tease. I was hoping Drew McIntyre would show up as Dominik’s opponent. The Scottish Warrior needs to get back on TV.
- The Bloodline drama continued with a new twist. After Jey told Sami he wasn’t family, the Usos caught their former Honorary Uce talking to The Bloodline. This storyline always manages to pique my interest with all this crazy storytelling. Let’s see how this ties into SmackDown Friday.
