What’s Next For Bron Breakker?

Bron Breakker’s title run came to an end on September 23, 2024. Breakker lost the Intercontinental Championship to fan favorite Jey Uso on RAW in Ontario, California. He held the title for 51 days after winning it from Sami Zayn at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

There’s no update (at the time of this writing) on the creative direction for Breakker. Word on the internet is that the loss to Jey won’t affect his push in the slightest. With that in mind, here are five possible directions for Bron Breakker following his loss to Jey Uso.

Rematch for the Intercontinental title

Bron Breakker had a supremely competitive match against Jey Uso last week on WWE RAW. Both superstars fired on all cylinders to determine the fate of the Intercontinental Championship. In the end, Jey proved to be a better man than his opponent.

Breakker said after the loss he had “a right to a rematch.” Click here to read the full quote. The former two-time NXT Champion may show up on RAW to crash Mr. MonJey Night’s title celebration. Who knows, we may as well get Bron vs. Jey II live tonight?

Bron Breakker vs. The Judgment Day

Bron Breakker reportedly subbed for Brock Lesnar at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Breakker looked unstoppable before he was eliminated by Dominik Mysterio. Breakker teased a feud with Finn Balor’s group after the elimination. But WWE has yet to go with Breakker vs. The Judgment Day.

With Breakker reportedly set for a massive face run on WWE television, Triple H could potentially have him take on the entire Judgment Day all by himself. This could help legitimize Breakker as a babyface. WWE could capitalize on Breakker’s history with JD McDonagh from NXT to run it back between the pair before throwing Dominik into the mix.

Program with a veteran

Bron Breakker has had some interesting feuds in the past. He took the NXT torch from Ciampa, won the tag team titles with Corbin, and got the Taker rub all during the last two years. There’s no denying that Breakker had quite a remarkable career on the White and Gold Brand.

WWE doesn’t need to rush with Breakker’s babyface push. Triple H could put him in a program with a veteran to establish Breakker as the ‘next big thing.’ This could be similar to how Vince established Lesnar by pitting him against The Hardyz and RVD back in 2002.

Bron vs. Brock would’ve been epic… just saying.

Move to Friday Night SmackDown

While talking about a potential rematch with Jey Uso, Breakker had something interesting to say. “I have a right to a rematch. I think that’s how that typically goes. We’ll see. I don’t know. If that’s not my place and I’m needed elsewhere or something else comes up, I’ll answer the call.”

Could this mean a move to SmackDown is on the cards? Fans might remember Nick Aldis’ reaction to losing Bron Breakker to RAW at the 2024 WWE Draft. Aldis could definitely pull some strings and get Breakker on the blue brand.

Bron Breakker vs. Gunther for the world title

This match needs to happen. For those unaware, Breakker is one of the three men in the entire WWE to hand Gunther a pinfall or submission loss. Ilja Dragunov and Sami Zayn happen to be the other two superstars. Breakker beat Gunther in what turned out to be the Ring General’s final NXT match on April 5, 2022, NXT.

Triple H could book this feud one or two years from now. Gunther shouldn’t drop the title anytime soon. He’s only beginning to establish his dominance as the World Heavyweight Champion. The Ring General has already had the longest reign as the Intercontinental Champion. It’s time he get a lengthy one with the world championship.
