Bash in Berlin is about to happen!
August 31, 2024, will see the WWE Universe storm to Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, for the next Premium Live Event. The former Mercedes-Benz Arena has the capacity to host 17,000 fans, all anticipating a night of epic proportion.
WWE has confirmed three matches (at the time of this writing), but additional match announcements are imminent. The world champions heading into Germany are Cody Rhodes and Gunther, with both their titles up for grabs.
- Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton – World Heavyweight Championship
- Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship
- The Terror Twins (Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley) vs. The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan – Mixed tag team match
Fans are, without a doubt, expecting the addition of some exciting matches for WWE’s first PLE in Germany. Here are some more matches Triple H could book for the inaugural Bash in Berlin PLE.
Six-woman tag team match at Bash in Berlin
It’s high time a major women’s tag team match gets showcased at a WWE Premium Live Event. Triple H has some of the best women wrestlers at his disposal, but The Game hasn’t been a solid booker when it comes to tag team wrestling. The division continues to suffer due to lack of TV time and underwhelming segments.
Bash in Berlin could be WWE’s opportunity to turn things around as far as women’s tag team wrestling goes. With RAW set to witness a major tag team title match come Monday, Germany next Saturday could get Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Naomi against Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn and Blair Davenport in a six-woman tag team match.
Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
The notorious injury bug bit Ludwig Kaiser on the road to Bash in Berlin. Thankfully, the former Marcel Barthel is on the right track as WWE’s next big PLE approaches. Kaiser has rightfully earned the opportunity to showcase himself in front of family, friends and fans in his home country of Germany.
As far as his opponent goes, I can’t think of anyone better than Sheamus. Both men have been feuding for the past several weeks. They had a less-than-cordial interaction before Pete Dunne attacked Sheamus this past Monday on RAW. Hopefully, Bash in Berlin will be Kaiser’s opportunity to go over the Celtic Warrior.
Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov
Bron Breakker’s first televised defense of the Intercontinental Championship saw him beat Sami Zayn. The second-generation Steiner bested the veteran in a Best 2 Out of 3 Falls match. Both men showed respect to each other after RAW went off the air.
With the feud seemingly over, Breakker can finally focus on continuing his run as the Intercontinental Champion. Triple H could resume Breakker’s feud with Ilja Dragunov on the road to Berlin. Both men have great chemistry inside the ring. I’m assure German fans would love to see The Mad Dragon bring his intensity to Bash in Berlin.
CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre II
CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre is my pick for WWE’s feud of 2024. These two men have been brilliant in every segment, every promo we’ve seen from them. From Punk pulling off the Glasgow Screwjob to McIntyre posing with Jack Perry, the storyline has delivered every step of the way.
Punk made it clear he wasn’t done with McIntyre on the RAW following SummerSlam. The Straight Edge Superstar even assaulted McIntyre with his own belt on the road to Berlin. With Rollins versus Punk seemingly put on hold, Punk versus McIntyre II needs to happen in Berlin.
Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa at Bash in Berlin
Roman Reigns made his blockbuster return at SummerSlam 2024. WWE’s Only Tribal Chief cost his own cousin against Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. Reigns would singlehandedly destroy The Bloodline on the following SmackDown, seemingly teasing a showdown with Solo in the process.
Ideally, Reigns versus Sikoa would happen before we eventually get to Reigns versus Jacob Fatu. WWE was clever to keep Reigns and Fatu separate during the SummerSlam angle. Assuming Reigns versus Fatu is set for a major future PLE, we can get Roman Reigns versus Solo Sikoa at Bash in Berlin.
WrestleZone will have full coverage of Bash in Berlin as it airs.
