5 Teams Who Could Face The Bloodline For WWE Tag Team Titles

The Bloodline has once again brought gold home.

Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga claimed the WWE Tag Team Championship for themselves on the August 2 episode of SmackDown. The pair defeated DIY for the gold in the show’s main event. They had previously earned a shot at the tag team titles by winning a gauntlet match.

Ideally, Ciampa and Gargano would invoke their rematch clause for the tag team titles before moving on to their next feud. Assuming Triple H intends to give The Bloodline a lengthy run with the tag team titles, The Game needs to book these five teams as Fatu and Tonga’s next opponents.

A-Town Down Under

Austin Theory and Grayson Waller won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania XL. The pair would eventually drop the titles to DIY on 7/5 WWE SmackDown. Theory and Waller most recently scored a win against Awesome Truth on RAW.

Theory and Waller have been quite entertaining as a tag team despite frequently teasing a split. They are bound to go their separate ways. That said, A-Town Down Under needs to have a one-off program with The Bloodline before Theory and Waller embark on a solo run.

The Good Brothers have a history with The Bloodline

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have a storied history with 2/4 members of the new Bloodline. Gallows, Anderson and the Tongans were, at one point, all members of The Bullet Club. BC was highly successful in New Japan before making their mark in the United States.

Gallows and Anderson recently concluded their program with O.T.M. on WWE NXT. The pair could spring back into action on the main roster by challenging Fatu and Tonga for the WWE Tag Team Championship potentially making for an interesting storyline.

The Street Profits

It’s been quite some time since The Street Profits held a major championship in WWE. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins last held the tag team titles on the January 8, 2021 episode of SmackDown. The pair have since struggled to bring home the gold.

The Profits had some great matches against The Usos for the tag team titles from 2021-2023. Their style perfectly gelled with the new Bloodline with Ford and Tama showing amazing chemistry during their previous outing.

The Street Profits versus The Bloodline for the WWE Tag Team Championship needs to happen at some point down the line. I would love to see a lengthy program between the two teams with matches on weekly TV as well as PLE.

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga: WWE Backlash France highlights, May 4, 2024

Kevin Owens & Randy Orton

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton continue to be a thorn in The Bloodline’s side. The two sides have been going back and forth for years now. Owens and Orton previously feuded with Roman Reigns and The Usos. They were forced to take on Solo Sikoa and his rogue Bloodline in 2024.

SummerSlam 2024 saw the return of Owens and Orton to fend off the Tongans during Cody Rhodes versus Solo Sikoa. Orton and Owens may not be an official tag team, but they work together tremendously as evident from what’s going on for the past several months.

It’s high time they come up with an official name for their partnership before taking on Fatu and Tonga for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Roman Reigns & Jimmy Uso vs. The Bloodline

Solo Sikoa proclaimed himself the “New Tribal Chief” at the expense of Jimmy Uso. The former Enforcer put his own flesh and blood on the shelf following a vicious assault by Tama Tonga on SmackDown after WrestleMania XL

The rogue Bloodline would go after Paul Heyman, putting the “Wiseman” through the announce table on 6/28 WWE SmackDown. The Bloodline thought they couldn’t be challenged anymore. They couldn’t be more wrong.

Roman Reigns returned to WWE after a long hiatus last Saturday. The “OTC” pummeled his cousin allowing Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of the sold-out SummerSlam 2024.

Reigns is set to appear on SmackDown tonight. The odds are apparently stacked against the former Undisputed Champion, but Reigns won’t be alone for long. Jimmy Uso could return in the lead-up to the eventual match between Reigns and Solo but before that, I think the WWE Universe won’t mind seeing Reigns and Jimmy tag together against Fatu and Tama for the tag team titles.
