WWE Backlash 2024 Preview And Predictions

WWE Backlash 2024 goes down live tonight. The company’s first Premium Live Event since WrestleMania XL also happens to be their first international event in France, emanating from the LDLC Arena (Décines-Charpieu) in the bustling Lyon Metropolis.

The main show begins live on Peacock in the United States (and WWE Network elsewhere) at 1pm ET with the kickoff set to take place an hour earlier. Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has booked a five-match card for the international Premium Live Event.

With that said, here’s the final match card and predictions for WWE Backlash 2024.

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga) at WWE Backlash 2024

Solo Sikoa took charge of The Bloodline after WrestleMania 40. The Enforcer introduced fans to his “MFT” Tama Tonga two weeks ago on WWE SmackDown. The pair took out Jimmy Uso before brutalizing Kevin Owens in a two-on-one assault the following week.

KO would get some help from Randy Orton against The Bloodline on the 2024 WWE Draft edition of SmackDown. All four men would get into a huge brawl on the final SmackDown before Backlash with KO and Orton standing tall.

Can the awesome alliance of Orton and Owens stop The Bloodline’s madness, or will Sikoa and Tonga paint the first chapter of The Bloodline’s next saga with blood? We’ll find out at WWE Backlash 2024.

Prediction: The Bloodline def. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton

The Kabuki Warriors (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Bianca Belair and Naomi found an unexpected partner in Jade Cargill on the road to WrestleMania XL. The trio picked up a win against Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka and Kairi Sane) on the Biggest Show of the Year.

While Naomi occupied herself with Bayley and Tiffany Stratton, Belair and Cargill set their sights on tag team gold. The duo made a strong statement with a massive win in the eight-woman tag team match against Damage CTRL and Stratton on the final SmackDown before WWE Backlash 2024.

Will Belair and Cargill put an end to the Kabuki Warrior’s tag team title run, or will Asuka and Kairi Sane stand tall after the third count?

Prediction: New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill

WWE Backlash Bayley Tiffany Stratton Naomi

Bayley (c) vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton – Triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship

Bayley toppled IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40 Night 2. The Role Model handpicked Naomi as her first opponent on the following SmackDown. The Glow would solidify herself as the challenger with a clean win over Tiffany Stratton.

Stratton, however, would interrupt the title match between Bayley and Naomi on the April 19, 2024, episode of SmackDown, forcing GM Aldis to book a triple threat at Backlash France. The odds are pretty much stacked against Bayley in this one, but she’s no stranger to surviving them.

Prediction: Bayley retains her title

Damian Priest (c) vs. Jey Uso – World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Backlash 2024

Damian Priest shut his critics up with a successful cash-in at WrestleMania 40 Night 2. The Archer of Infamy ruined Drew McIntyre’s five-minute title reign for the biggest win of his career. Priest would find his next opponent the very next night on RAW.

Jey Uso survived a fatal four-way match to earn his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. The champion has tried to show his challenger some respect only to be ridiculed. Plus, he wants to do defeat Jey without The Judgment Day’s help.

Can Jey finally get his hands on his first singles gold in WWE? Will Damian Priest’s first title defense end in a clean win for the champion? We’ll find out at WWE Backlash 2024.

Prediction: Damian Priest retains

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. AJ Styles – Undisputed WWE Championship match

Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40. The American Nightmare is the proud Undisputed WWE Champion of Friday Night SmackDown. Rhodes announced a series of matches to determine his first opponent at Backlash France.

AJ Styles would emerge as the challenger following his win over LA Knight. The Phenomenal One boasts a stellar resume that can only be compared to a few. Styles has promised to dethrone Cody in his first title defense.

Tonight marks the first one-one-one meeting between the duo. Styles had previously defeated the legendary Dusty Rhodes for the NWA Worlds Title. Will he dish out the same fate to the son of the American Dream?

Whatever the outcome may be, this match could very well steal the show in France.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes def. AJ Styles
