Best WWE RAW Christmas Themed Matches

WWE RAW has hosted a bunch of Christmas-themed matches over the years. These bouts have given fans some notable moments in WWE history. We’ve seen wrestlers stunned, put through the table, and even smoked with a fire extinguisher, all in the name of the holiday spirit.

Christmas-themed matches on WWE RAW continue to put a smile on the faces of millions of fans around the world. These bouts do not tend to be technical or storyline masterclasses. That being said, let’s take a look at some of the best holiday-themed matches on WWE RAW:

The Battle For Christmas (WWE RAW 2013)

Damian Sandow wanted to ruin Christmas, but Mark Henry was having none of it. The World’s Strongest Santa met his evil and less physically imposing counterpart on the December 23, 2013, episode of WWE RAW.

Sandow used a candy cane to hit Henry and destroy the Christmas wrappings on the stage. The Good Santa reversed the momentum by blowing smoke from a fire extinguisher in Sandow’s face. Henry picked up the win with the World’s Strongest Slam.

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio (Miracle on 34th Street Fight)

They should’ve named this match “Justice for Santa” instead of the usual Miracle on 34th Street Fight. Here’s how we got to the match. Alberto Del Rio “accidentally” took out Santa (Mick Foley) with his car. Booker T got out of the trainer’s room and told everybody Santa was down.

The whole locker room, including John Cena, confronted Del Rio, who reiterated it was an accident. Cena said Santa came all the way from the North Pole to deliver presents on WWE RAW. He got Del Rio in the aforementioned match.

Foley, I mean, Santa got his revenge on Del Rio by coming to the aid of Cena during the match. The bout wasn’t their best in terms of in-ring action, but it served its purpose of being a great holiday spectacle.

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt (Miracle on 34th Street Fight – December 22, 2014)

Bray Wyatt kicked off his feud with Dean Ambrose by interfering in his match against Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell 2014. Both men spent the following weeks beating each other on televised shows and at PPV events.

They met in the gimmicked Miracle on 34th Street Fight on the December 22, 2014, episode of Monday Night RAW. This was an all-out brawl as Wyatt and Ambrose beat the life out of each other with Christmas decorations.

The Lunatic Fringe ended the match with a neat elbow drop onto Wyatt through a table.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Fandango (Christmas Present On A Pole Match – WWE RAW 2013)

Fandango was one of the hottest stars in WWE for a time. Fans used to dance to his theme song and he even got a win over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29. He defeated another big name in Dolph Ziggler on the Christmas-themed edition of WWE RAW.

The two men put on a great match that could’ve gotten better attention had it gone without the weird gimmick name. Ziggler’s incredible selling was all over the place, with the Show Off even taking a brutal bump on the steel steps.

R-Truth vs. JD McDonagh (Miracle on 34th Street Fight – December 18, 2023)

R-Truth has to be top five most hilarious WWE superstars of all time. The man knows to crack his fellow performers inside the ring. His recent segments with The Judgment Day have been nothing but comedy gold.

Truth faced JD McDonagh in a holiday-themed match on the December 18, 2023, episode of RAW. The stakes went high after Truth told McDonagh they would be competing for the right to stay in the Judgment Day.

The Irish Ace reluctantly accepted the challenge. Both men put on an entertaining match. Truth showed remarkable athleticism despite being 51 years old at the time of the match. He ended up ousting the former NXT UK star from The Judgment Day.
