Bryan Danielson vs. Matt Sydal (May 27, 2022)

If there’s one takeaway from Bryan Danielson’s AEW career, it’s that the American Dragon is still one of the best wrestlers in the world. The 42-year-old star never fails to put on a PPV-quality match on free television.

One such bout came against Matt Sydal on AEW Rampage in 2022. The pair’s chemistry was evident from the start. Every move was delivered with great precision. This match received four stars from Dave Meltzer.

Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo (March 4, 2022)

This match saw three of the best in AEW came to war on AEW Rampage. Guevara had his TNT Championship on the line, months after he unified the championship in his match of the night against Cody Rhodes on Dynamite.

The triple threat match showcased the in-ring brilliance of Andrade, the high-risk offense of Darby, and the sheer athleticism of Guevara. The match turned out to be one of the best on AEW Rampage in 2022, as well as a high point in the Spanish’s God TNT Championship reign.

Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole (AEW Rampage – April 15, 2022)

After their excellent Revolution main event, Hangman Page and Adam Cole met for their second singles match on AEW Rampage in April 2022. This match had Page’s AEW World Championship on the line under the Texas Deathmatch Rules.

A violent spectacle from the get-go, the match featured incredible moves and plenty of near falls. The closing stretch was particularly great as it saw the champion take out the challenger with a barbed wire-wrapped Deadeye through the table to retain his title.

Jon Moxley vs. Wheeler Yuta (AEW Rampage – April 8, 2022)

There’s no denying that Wheeler Yuta had a spectacular 2022. From his classic battles with archrival Daniel Garcia to his career-defining performance against Jon Moxley, Yuta showed he would never back down without putting up a fight.

Speaking of his match against Jon Moxley, the pair produced an all-time great match on free television in 2022. This was an all-out war that carried high stakes for Yuta. He was more than willing to prove he could hang with the big guns in Moxley and Bryan Danielson.

Never the one to shy away from violence, Mox busted open his soon-to-be protégé as the crowd came to their feet. The ending was spectacular as it made Yuta look strong. He passed out to a rear naked choke instead of losing via pinfall or submission.

The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Brothers (June 3, 2022)

Every match involving The Young Bucks and the Lucha Brothers is bound to steal the show. This was exactly what happened when the two teams collided in this extraordinary opener on AEW Rampage.

This bout featured Matt and Nick Jackson’s signature high-flying moves as well as Penta and Rey Fenix’s intense in-ring psychology. The multiple near-falls made the match suspenseful with each passing minute.

In the end, the Bucks used their dirty tactics to remove Penta’s mask followed by the BTE Trigger on Fenix for the win.
