Bryan Danielson’s 5 Best AEW Feuds

Bryan Danielson‘s intensity on the mic and inside the ring has enabled him to deliver top-quality feuds in AEW. The American Dragon has already wrestled some of the biggest names in AEW despite only being with the company for two years.

Danielson’s intense promo work, coupled with his mastery of technical wrestling, has resulted in some great feuds in AEW’s young history. The co-founder of Blackpool Combat Club knows how to get the best out of his opponents.

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson’s history together predates AEW. They were bitter rivals in WWE in the early 2010s. Their shared history led Danielson to convince his longtime opponent to form an alliance in 2022.

Mox initially refused as he believed in solo supremacy. The two decided to sort out their differences at Revolution 2022. The bout turned out to be one of the best matches on the card. Mox barely scored the win, but refused to acknowledge Danielson’s offer.

It wasn’t until their old mentor William Regal showed up and slapped both men that they were able to sort out their differences and form Blackpool Combat Club.

Chris Jericho / Jericho Appreciation Society

Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson had many great matches in WWE. It is as if the Wizard was destined to face his old rival in AEW. Jericho was extremely jealous when Danielson tried to recruit Daniel Garcia into the Blackpool Combat Club.

The former champions reignited their old rivalry that even brought their factions into the mix. After facing each other in singles matches, including a match for the ROH World Championship, the bitter rivals and their factions concluded their feud in a Blood & Guts match.

Kenny Omega / The Elite

Kenny Omega versus Bryan Danielson was probably the biggest dream match that AEW turned into reality. The American Dragon’s debut came as an interruption to Kenny Omega and The Elite’s celebration at All Out 2021.

Omega became Danielson’s first opponent in AEW by wrestling him to a time-limit draw at Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 22, 2021. The duo picked up their feud after Danielson attacked Omega on the March 29, 2023, episode of Dynamite – turning heel in the process.

Danielson’s heel turn pitted BCC against The Elite in a war of factions. BCC won the feud by defeating The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena Match at Double or Nothing 2023.

MJF

MJF and Bryan Danielson’s feud is considered one of the greatest feuds in AEW history. The current AEW Champion did everything he could to prevent Danielson from getting a title shot. Max’s actions only enabled Danielson to bring back his vicious persona from ROH days.

Their promo work also received praise from fans and critics alike. MJF made things extremely personal when he brought Danielson’s family into the feud. The two men faced each other for the AEW World Championship at Revolution 2023.

The 60-minute Iron Man Match became one of the high points in AEW history. It received a 5 and 34 star rating from Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.

“Hangman” Adam Page

Adam Page’s AEW title reign is severely underrated. “Hangman” kicked off his run with a win over longtime rival and friend Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021. His first title defense came against Bryan Danielson at Dynamite’s television special Winter Is Coming. The match went a full 60 minutes with neither man able to secure a decisive win.

They met for the second time on the January 5, 2022, episode of Dynamite. Page emerged as the victor this time. The feud with Bryan Danielson helped “Hangman” solidify his title reign. They might’ve faced for the third time had Tony Khan not booked Page to drop his title to CM Punk at Double or Nothing 2022.
