Becky Lynch’s rise to the top in 2018 was probably the most fascinating thing in WWE that year. She was poised to be the face of the SmackDown Women’s division in 2016 when she was the first female drafted to the brand, but even after being the inaugural Women’s Champion, she found herself constantly overshadowed.
The story in 2018 leading up to her heel turn was brilliant and the circumstances surrounding it were all the more fascinating. She was always popular, but the crowd got even more behind her when WWE was essentially telling people to boo her. This attitude change led to her becoming The Man and in less than a couple of months, she quietly turned face again.
This led to her becoming one of the first three women to main event WrestleMania and she received the coronation of a lifetime.
