The best part about AJ Styles’ run on SmackDown is that one entire run was as a heel while the other was as a babyface. Whether he was a heel or face, he was the face of the SmackDown Live brand and he was the one who put an end to Jinder Mahal‘s dreaded World title reign in 2017.
In beating him at the SmackDown episode in Manchester, Styles became the first WWE superstar to win the World title outside of North America. It was a phenomenal moment and would kickstart a year-long dominance of Styles as WWE World Champion.
