#4.) vs Kazuchika Okada – G1 Climax 2017
This was in the midst of Okada’s legendary IWGP Heavyweight title reign, the greatest world title reign of the decade (and perhaps even century). Though the title wasn’t on the line, the G1 Climax tournament always holds importance. In the main event of the fourth day, Okada took on a strong opponent in Elgin.
Elgin dominated early on and the entire story of the match was how Okada would manage to evade the dangerous power of Elgin and find a way around. Okada respected Elgin’s power but took a whole lot of punishment. He did end up narrowly beating Elgin in a 25-minute match but he was taken to the limit.
It was hard to stop Okada at the time.
