Finn Balor is reigning supreme as Intercontinental Champion. However, it’s been around 3 years since he last came close to a World title and it seems inevitable that he should take a step back up. The move to SmackDown Live was definitely a good one and though he’s IC Champion, that should simply be a stepping stone towards something much bigger.
If Finn Balor were to be the one to dethrone Kofi Kingston, there’s no doubt that fans would accept it. It would be one worthy champion passing the torch to another and it would simply feel right.
