Perhaps WWE’s most controversial power couple, this on-screen pairing happened as a result of a series of uncomfortable events. You probably know about the Matt Hardy-Lita-Edge incident that occurred in real life and WWE decided to make the most out of it with an actual storyline based off the events.
Edge himself stated that the entire thing was uncomfortable, but it did lead to a successful pairing with Lita. Although their tenure together wasn’t too long due to Lita’s retirement in 2006, they still caused quite an impact and became the two most hated superstars in the professional wrestling business and perhaps the most hated couple of their generation.
