The Miz & Maryse have been together for a long time. They got engaged in 2013 and got married in 2014. They were involved slightly in Maryse’s first run with the company, but when she returned in 2016, everything changed. She returned as The Miz’s manager/valet and added a whole new layer to his character.
As it turned out, pairing him with Maryse on-screen turned out to be a huge hit as he took it to a new level as a performer. She does return on occasion, but their pairing and dynamic was a hit even off-screen in WWE, so much so that they even got their own reality show Miz & Mrs.
It allowed fans to take a look at the non-heel side of the couple and realize that they’re actually very cool people in real life. Their popularity has risen since.
