There was never going to be any other superstar who topped the list. Despite teasing an interference, Adam Cole beat Johnny Gargano clean as a whistle, legitimizing his NXT Championship victory. While it’s hard to immediately compare his last match with Gargano, it almost seems like his destiny was fulfilled by becoming NXT Champion.
Fans knew that Cole as NXT Champion was inevitable, but NXT did a great job in building him up for nearly two years before the inevitable title win. When the moment came, Cole seized the opportunity, winning the NXT Championship in the best way possible.
