At Money in the Bank 2019, it was announced that Mick Foley would be announcing WWE’s newest title. There was a lot of speculation as to what it could have been – whether it was just a PR stunt, something similar to the hardcore championship or something else. When Foley did come out, he introduced the title to a…not so favorable reaction.

Either way, what’s important is not the initial response, but how WWE uses the title going forward. It was quite clear where the title stood on the pecking order right off the bat, with many of the midcard superstars fighting it out to become the inaugural champion. Titus O’ Neil would have that honor – for all but a few seconds before Robert Roode pinned him to become champion.

Roode wouldn’t walk out unscathed either. After a lot of cat and mouse chasing between him and the rest of the roster, R-Truth tricked him and ended up becoming champion himself.  While there has been a lot of criticism right off the bat (particularly with how the title looks), we firmly believe that the 24/7 title is a good idea. Here’s why.
