5 Things You Need To Know About Jon Moxley

#4.) Had to train for two years before he was allowed to wrestle

Jon Moxley didn’t exactly have a conventionally pleasant childhood (but we’ll get back to that). Since wrestling was his only escape, it was what he wanted to do for a living and there was no two ways about it. He said:

“There was nothing else. There was the crappy real world, and the awesome world of wrestling which was so much better.”

He approached Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) at the age of 16, but he was turned down because he was too young and underweight. The promoter told him to gain weight, go to college and return in a few years. However, Moxley had no desire to do so and wanted to involve himself in the wrestling business. So he began to take up small jobs with the promotion such as setting up the ring, selling popcorn, etc.

He also became a student of the game and trained for one year before making his debut at the age of 18.
