This is the perfect match at the right juncture. Styles is a few months removed from his historic WWE title reign, and for the first time in two and a half years, hasn’t been the primary focus on SmackDown Live. With the story being about competitiveness and intensity, it’s a simple, straightforward rivalry with no shenanigans required.
Plus, it’s a match that’s over two years after their first bout, so it’s most definitely a long overdue dream rematch. It’s just about who’s the better competitor, and there’s no doubt that Orton is more motivated than he has been for a while.
