It’s fair to say that Batista’s “Give me what I want” promo didn’t really get things off on the right foot, but even so, it’s an extremely interesting story. It started with Batista sabotaging Ric Flair‘s 70th Birthday Celebration, attacking his former mentor. It’s a match that’s 14 years in the making, and the fact that the roles are completely reversed from last time around.
From a long-term storytelling perspective, this is an interesting one, especially because this may very well be Batista’s retirement match. If it is, then it’s a good way to go out, because he gets to do it on his own terms like he’s always wanted to – facing Triple H at WrestleMania and being the heel.
