#2.) Great storyline progression

The whole purpose of a PPV match is to either set up a storyline, continue it, or conclude it. More often than not, WWE gets criticism for having bad storyline progression and several inconsistencies throughout the show. While a large part of that is true, we believe that they should get credit when they do it right, and Fastlane 2019 was the perfect example of storyline progression done correctly.

From Shane McMahon turning on The Miz, to Kofi Kingston‘s never-ending pursuit of a WWE title opportunity to The Shield’s last stand, there was a lot of consistency and good storytelling done throughout the show. It only served to further the storylines, which is the objective in the first place.

While you could argue that the RAW Women’s title picture has some inconsistencies, it’s still a very entertaining rivalry overall.
