#1.) Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar – 2016
If you were really invested in WWE at the time, you know exactly how frustrating this main event turned out to be. Dean Ambrose was the hottest babyface in 2016, and it would have been the perfect time to pull the trigger on him. Triple H was the WWE Champion and Ambrose, Reigns and Brock Lesnar competed to face him at WrestleMania.
Here’s the catch – while fans in the back of their minds knew Reigns would win, there was a lot of hope that Ambrose would be winning, and WWE made it seem that way the entire build. The story centered around Ambrose and Lesnar, with Reigns being practically a supporting character.
Ambrose was being built up and pushed, and at the end of it all, he was only there to eat the pin. Roman Reigns won again, and fans were furious about it. A year later, they seemingly accepted that no matter how hot any superstar was, Reigns would always be WWE’s first preference.
