#3.) He rejected WWE’s offer before
Kevin Owens and Roderick Strong have been associated with one another for long thanks to their past with ROH and PWG. They also happened to be in the same training camp in 2014, the one that saw Kevin Owens get swooped and signed by WWE. Given Strong’s athleticism and experience, it was clear that he was WWE-ready, and he was even offered a contract.
However, on The Ross Report, Roderick Strong revealed that he had turned down their offer. However, he didn’t specify any reason. Ultimately, it all worked out for the best, because he got two more years of exposure outside of WWE and was able to hone his skills further. Had he not, he may very well have been lost in the shuffle. Timing is everything, as AJ Styles would say.
