Before he was Apollo Crews, Sesugh Uhaa went by the name of Uhaa Nation. While the first part of the name is obvious, what’s the reason behind the second? According to Crews, his weights coach in high school told him that he was “as strong as a nation”. Thus, the name Uhaa Nation was formed.
He went on to create quite a buzz about himself in the independent scene and it’s always fascinating to hear how wrestlers got their initial names. It reveals a whole other side of them and a story we never really get to hear.
