Hideo Itami’s moveset was quite ahead of his time, and when he came to North America, he didn’t fail to impress. In fact, CM Punk himself has stated in the past that GTS was not his, but KENTA’s. Punk always respected the Japanese style of wrestling. Daniel Bryan too took a piece from Itami, which happens to be none other than the running knee. Though he doesn’t get the credit for it, Itami was quite revolutionary for his time.
