#1.) The backstory of the “Please sign Cedric” moment
If you watch it from WWE’s perspective, it seems as though Alexander was soaking in the crowd’s ovations after his defeat to Kota Ibushi in the Cruiserweight Classic. However, according to PWInsider, things were a little different.
Alexander had already gone to the locker room before Triple H urged him to go out and soak in the crowd’s reactions. Alexander had no idea that Triple H himself would be coming out. The crowd chanted “Please sign Cedric” in unison, leaving Alexander speechless and in tears. Triple H came out and endorsed Alexander, acknowledging the crowd’s chants with a nod, saying “Alright”. The rest, as they say, is history.
