Mustafa Ali is a one-of-a-kind athlete. He was the heart of 205 Live and went from an indie superstar without much buzz to a bonafide WWE up-and-comer. Chicago-raised but having origins in Pakistan and India, Ali is the kind of person who has constantly advocated for peace, unity and love amongst all. He’s the perfect babyface and out of everyone in the 205 Live roster he’s shown the most improvement and most potential as well.
He’s among the elite cruiserweight superstars in the world and has proven to be a “big match machine”. Whenever there’s been high expectations, he’s always delivered. It’s a shame that 205 Live hasn’t gotten the same viewership and reaction that it deserves, because when it comes to quality, character development and storytelling, it’s far and beyond more consistent than RAW or SmackDown Live.
Its simplicity in storytelling has benefitted it in a similar way to NXT, except it hasn’t gotten the critical acclaim like the yellow brand. Mustafa Ali’s time in 205 Live may be done, but he’s put on unforgettable matches that will be appreciated more in the years to come than the immediate future.
