Zack Sabre Jr. is not known as a Technical Wizard for nothing. He’s the very definition of a hybrid wrestler, as he implements the basic, old school techniques along with newer ones. He’s a grappling specialist and he’s used various styles and become one of the best workers in the world.

Despite WWE calling, Sabre chose to stick to his guns in Japan. In fact, he’s stated before that his dream was never to wrestle in the United States, but in Japan. And that’s exactly what he’s done since 2011. First having a four-year run in  Pro Wrestling NOAH, he then jumped ship to New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he’s seen quite some success so far.

Let’s take a look at the Technical Wizard’s five best matches.

#5.) vs Marty Scurll – PWG Mystery Vortex IV – 2016

In one of the most underrated matches in PWG history, Zack Sabre Jr. defended the PWG Championship against Marty Scurll. The match was a technical masterpiece in every sense of the word. They had a great face-heel dynamic, and the story of the match was that they were even in almost every area. Sabre, however, was clearly a superior grappler and once he began frustrating Scurll, The Villain resorted to dirty tactics and even shoved the referee away.

The intensity and sense of urgency from both competitors made it an incredible contest to watch, as Sabre beat Scrull in a 37-minute war.
