Looking back at it, it’s mind-boggling to think that not only have the quality of NXT Takeover’s consistently gone up, but so have the quality of matches. This isn’t even a diss at how things were back then because they were amazing. American Alpha’s journey to the tag titles culminated at WrestleMania 32 weekend, when they opened the show at NXT Takeover: Dallas.
A hot crowd was behind American Alpha and they desperately wanted to see them topple over The Revival. The match was absolutely brilliant from start to finish and both teams did what they did best. It was a crowning moment as American Alpha defeated The Revival to win the NXT tag titles in a touching moment.
