#1.) vs The Miz – No Mercy 2016
Ziggler and The Miz undoubtedly had the best feud of 2016. Not only was SmackDown Live the best show in wrestling at the time, but these two were a huge part of it. Ziggler’s unsuccessful attempt at the Intercontinental title saw him decide to put his career on the line for one more shot at the title.
It instantly added immense value to the match and the Intercontinental title. The match can best be described as pro-wrestling magic. The crowd were extremely invested and behind Ziggler, who had to jump multiple hurdles such as Maryse and The Spirit Squad. After all the interference, it seemed like it was done but Ziggler’s “never say die” attitude prevailed and in one of the most feel-good moments of 2016, Ziggler captured the Intercontinental title as the crowd erupted in cheers.
The feud wouldn’t end but this match was truly on another level. Why it didn’t main event the PPV, nobody knows.
