Finn Balor, then going by the name of Prince Devitt, was in the midst of a 14-month title reign as IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion. His biggest test up to that point came in the form of The Golden Star Kota Ibushi. In one of the marquee matches of the grand event, the champion made a unique entrance, being carried in a coffin. It was then placed vertically and out came Devitt with his full face and body painted as none other than Carnage!
It received an incredible reaction and the success of this is what led him to use it more often.
