#4.) Why did Dolph Ziggler vacate the United States Championship?
Dolph Ziggler was rather directionless in 2017 when an opportunity to capture the United States title came up. Baron Corbin defended the US title against Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Fans assumed that Ziggler was simply in the match to eat the pin and that Roode was likely to pick up the title.
In a shock move, Ziggler wound up winning the championship. Two nights later on SmackDown Live, he just placed the title on the ring mat and walked away, vacating it. A tournament was held to crown a new champion, which Bobby Roode eventually won. Ziggler returned shortly thereafter with no real explanation for vacating the title.
Thankfully, he would move to RAW a few months after, having a much better run.
